Faces of medical research - Public Meeting Wednesday 25 July 4pm-6pm

The MRC is a publicly-funded organisation dedicated to improving human health. Each year our annual public meeting is an opportunity to find out more about how the MRC funds biomedical research throughout the world, with the ultimate aim of improving human health.

This year BBC broadcaster Barbara Myers will be in conversation with some of the MRC’s leading researchers, asking them about their research, their careers and their working lives. From schizophrenia and cancer research, through the use of stem cells as a treatment for blindness, to the development of new techniques for studying how our bodies work in health and disease, our researchers from around the country will explain the excitement and importance of their research and outline some of the challenges for the future.

Whether you are student interested in a career in research, have a personal interest in medicine and health, or simply want to find out more, the MRC’s public meeting is a chance to meet and discuss with MRC Council members, hear about our achievements over the past year, and listen to and question researchers.
